Trade Recommendations

Hi there - can anyone recommend a good company or individual for paving driveways? I'm always much more interested in word of mouth recommendations than fliers through the door, so this seemed like a good forum.
I've had a variety of experiences, both good and bad, as I've gone through the process of gutting and redecorating a house and would be happy to share thoughts on electricians, plumbers, decorators, plasterers etc, etc
