Beckenham Town FC confirm sadly that Teddy Sheringham will not be in the squad for this weekend's FA Vase tie versus Banstead Athletic at Eden Park ground 3.00pm kick0off, Saturday 19th September. The team is stretched with more players unavailable, but let's hope that the talent they showed in their last cup match gets them trough once more.

Hi Neighbours! The summer holidays are over, but the sun is still shining, and your local website has been adding new things, plus don't forget this weekend's Beckenham Town Show at Croydon Road Recreation Park, 12th and 13th September too!

First up we've added a Beckenham Twitter search on the home page so any new mentions of Beckenham on the Twittersphere are available to view, plus of course our own Beckenham news and helpful info tweets too.

Secondly a new group under the Groups tab has been created for all those involved-in and lovers of sport, fitness and recreation in Beckenham and the surrounding areas to add your listings of Clubs, fixtures, events, news and start discussions, called 'Beckenham Sports'.

Don't forget you can start up your own Group if you wish or anything else on the site including uploading photos, videos and music to share with the community or just your friends. You can even add in your Blog or RSS feeds from other sites or any other applications, like Twitter, Facebook, Flickr updates etc on your profile page too.

We've set up a 'just for fun' competition on the site, running across September and October for everyone to upload their favourite Photos and Videos of Beckenham. We might even find a suitable prize to give away too. For such a green and leafy suburb there are very few photos to represent such a great area.

And finally, in these credit crunch times keep an eye on the 'Swap & Recycle' group on the site, with its weekly posts of the best money saving vouchers available and why not offer and recyle anything you don't need any more aswell , someone else will no doubt make a home for it. Offer it for free, the other party picks up, simple rules.

The site continues to grow only from your input and help so please do tell your neighbours, friends and family and invite them to join today too. Many thanks for your continued support, thousands of views a month is very heartening. Remember it's site for all of 'US'!

Yes, John but .... The Court of Appeal squashed the planning permission on the grounds that the process was faulty. In effect, this is new, judge made law and has caught many people by surprise. It means the process has to begin again - it is quite possible that exactly the same planning application could be submitted, a different process followed, and it again receive planning permission. However, it seems likely there wil be a new planning application as I believe the Boys school wish to make some changes to the design.
