What would you like in Beckenham?
Soft/Baseball Batting cages, softball diamond, sandy beach volleyball type courts in the parks, more youth clubs, less taxes like CPZs, crazy golf in the parks, skate park, venues for more bands to play. Not reliving my youth, just wish teens had more places to meet up safely and enjoy. Okay, the batting cages, like in the US parks are a great way to keep fit and get you out in the fresh air.
Favourite TV Show/Music/Film/Hobby/Sports
Spooks, Top Gear, QI, Have I Got News for You, Quantum Leap, Mad Men, Hustle, MOTD, Heroes, Click, Shameless.
Eclectic taste, Ska, Mod, Jazz, Indie, Electronic, Northern Soul, Rave, New Order, Joy DIvision, Faithless, Regina Spektor, Cure, Jam, Smiths, Specials, James Brown etc.

Jon Clarke Info:

Hi, Jon here, web marketing and advertising guy, the founder of MediaStarz.co.uk and a few other things. I have several interests on the go at once, but love to kick back with family, friends, live music and games/gadgets, supporting West Ham is my rollercoaster and getting a chance to play softball is always worth it.

Please say hi and add me as a friend, I'll add all manner of things here over time, great internet widgets, mobile platforms, helpful sites, etc.

We have a few of us looking at how we can make this site more fun, helpful and informative. If you have an idea please do tell me and we'll look at it. If you want to help create something for all here then your help would be totally appreciated.

The Death of Local Newspapers and Local Newspaper Websites - Would you pay?

Regional publisher Johnston Press is about to put up paywalls around some of its weekly newspaper websites.

According to a report on HoldtheFrontPage, JP will begin the rolling-out the paid-for model across the company from Monday.

The subscription system will be the same as that currently used by the Scotsman to view "premium content" on its website, the report said.

It is understood that once the system is in place, users will be unable to view content beyond the homepage without subscri

Derren Brown’s National Lottery Prediction Crowd Sourcing

If Derren Brown is to be believed then winning the National Lottery is all about getting together a crowd of people well known to each other, disbanding the nature of greed, and ask them to study the past year’s National Lottery results and then input their own next 6 numbers in order. The average number fo… Continue

I wrote this on the major CPZ thread on this site, click here, but I thought I'd post it as a blog too, so it's easier to find for others as the other thread is long and moves quite quickly with new comments. It's important residents know the facts and can find them quickly. So here goes...

Once in a while one gets to smile and thank people for their genuine helpfulness and relaxed demeanor, and whilst others can be jobsworths the brilliant management down at Crystal Palace Sports Centre helped out with a cheeky request and now parts of a Beckenham Allotment will be certainly a 'Green and pleasant land'.

Attending the revamped sports centre these p… Continue

Hi Jon. It's a great idea - well done for seting it up! Have noticed one of my invitees has already joined! Are there other sites like this in this area? Is there one for Bromley do you know?
