Jackie Groundsell missing Molly

A friend and 1230 TWC member is very distressed as her cat has been missing for around 10 days now. This lady lives alone apart from her 3 cats. This one is called Molly, a treasured 7 year old female cat, spayed, micro-chipped - no collar, tabby distinctive gold freckled fluffy tummy, her build has been described as chunky, but not fat, missing in the Morgan Road, Bromley area. If anyone has seen her, please contact me direct on admin@1230.co.uk Please, only genuine sitings, as you'll imagine… Continue

Jon Clarke Derren Brown’s National Lottery Prediction Crowd Sourcing

If Derren Brown is to be believed then winning the National Lottery is all about getting together a crowd of people well known to each other, disbanding the nature of greed, and ask them to study the past year’s National Lottery results and then input their own next 6 numbers in order. The average number fo… Continue

Jon Clarke Clock House Zone 2&3 CPZ Public Meeting, 24 June, Report for all those who didn't attend

I wrote this on the major CPZ thread on this site, click here, but I thought I'd post it as a blog too, so it's easier to find for others as the other thread is long and moves quite quickly with new comments. It's important residents know the facts and can find them quickly. So here goes... Balgowan School - CPZ Meeting Public Meeting Zones 2 & 3 This probably is the only… Continue

Ali Voting, and recycling

On the way from voting today (don't forget, everyone!), there was an info bus from the Council on the subject of recycling. I chatted to the people there and said I couldn't wait until we could have the food recycling in my road. My sister has had it for a few years now (in Richmond) and it works brilliantly. I was wondering how it's going for those in the trial area here in LB Bromley? The officer there urged me to write to my Councillors in support of the scheme, which I intend to do, and I t… Continue

Reg Adams Unchanged Borough Boundaries

With a bit more hype about elections just lately (European Parliament ElectionDay being Thursday 4 June), I've been asked a few times about boundary changes. So to allay any fears and to try to sort out any lingering confusion, I'm posting this as a blog: There is no truth whatsoever in the story that any road in this neighbourhood is about to be transferred from Bromley Borough to Lewisham Borough. The Borough boundaries remain the same as they have been ever since 1965. Nobody is planning to… Continue

Jon Clarke Green and pleasant land

Once in a while one gets to smile and thank people for their genuine helpfulness and relaxed demeanor, and whilst others can be jobsworths the brilliant management down at Crystal Palace Sports Centre helped out with a cheeky request and now parts of a Beckenham Allotment will be certainly a 'Green and pleasant land'. Attending the revamped sports centre these p… Continue

Cllr John Getgood, Penge & Cator ward The Studio

I thought readers of this site would be interested to know that an advert will appear next week asking for expressions of interest in taking over the old Studio building by Beckenham Library. The history of the site is far too complex to go into now, though I can answer specific questions. However, working with Reg Adams from Clock House ward, we have secured an agreement from the council that the site will continue to be used primarily for arts, education and community use. The challenge will b… Continue
